"Calomito are a six piece Italian band who use: violin/viola, guitars, alto/soprano saxes/percussion/weird vocal efx, Fender Rhodes/synth/organ, electric bass/double bass and drums and this is their first album. The sound veers between avant-prog very much in the Cuneiform esthetic to more straighter jazz to more avant leanings. They've been together for some time now (I got a demo from them a few years ago and strongly encouraged them to stay in touch) and this is an exceedingly promising debut. Recommended."
